Hand-knotted silk, strand by strand.

Pearls should always be strung on individual knotted silk thread — a knot between each pearl prevents loss if the strand breaks, and the knots keep pearls from rubbing against each other. We restring with color-matched silk, tie each knot by hand to keep consistent spacing, and replace the clasp if it shows wear. A full restring typically takes 3-5 business days.

If the clasp is in good condition, yes. We re-attach it to the new strand. If it's worn or the mechanism is stiff, we recommend replacing it — clasps are inexpensive compared to restringing labor.
