Prong, bezel, channel, micro-pavé — we've set thousands of stones across forty years. All setting work comes with a lifetime stone-tightness warranty: bring the piece back any time for a free check-up.

SETTING TYPES

Each one chosen for a reason.

Prong: maximum light return, classic engagement style, ideal for solitaires. Bezel: a metal rim around the stone, secure and modern, great for active lifestyles. Channel: stones flush-set in a groove, sleek and snag-free, traditional for wedding bands. Micro-pavé: tiny diamonds set so close they shimmer like a continuous surface — the most technically demanding setting, hand-cut bead by bead. We'll match the right setting to your stone and your daily life.

AFTER THE SETTING

Annual check-ups keep stones in their place.

Every prong loosens slightly with daily wear — that's physics, not bad workmanship. We invite all setting customers in once a year for a free check-up: ultrasonic clean, prong tightness inspection under our microscope, retipping of any worn prongs, and a polish to restore the original luster. Most appointments take 30-45 minutes. Mark your purchase anniversary in your calendar — it's the easiest reminder, and the inspection is always free for pieces we built or set.

CAN YOU RESET
A HEIRLOOM STONE?

Yes, and we love it. Bring in the original piece — Grandma's ring, an old earring with a stone you want to wear daily — and we'll inspect, gently remove the stone, and design a new mount. Heirloom resets often turn into our customers' favorite pieces.

HOW SECURE
ARE PRONG SETTINGS?

Very, when properly built. The risk is wear over time — prongs thin out from daily contact and need retipping every 5-10 years for active wearers. Our lifetime warranty covers free annual prong checks; if anything's loose, we tighten it before you walk out.

IS MICRO-PAVÉ
WORTH IT?

If you love the look, yes — but go in eyes-open. Each tiny diamond is held by one or two beads, and damage to a single bead can lose a stone. With careful wear and our annual check-ups, micro-pavé pieces last for life. They're not the right choice for very active hands.
